Jackets and Boots and Scarves, OhMy!!

YAY!!! Fall is almost here! Now I know it's mid August, but the summer is going by really fast. Some of you may be wondering "Why would a 17 year old girl be so excited about fall? She has to go back to school in fall." Well at least I would think that. But this fall is particularly exciting because A) IT'S MY SENIOR YEAR! B) I will be enrolling in LIM College's Saturday Fashion Lab - sounds like fun C) I will be working - money, money, money, moooooney D) I will be going on the school's international trip - I don't know where they're going yet but I'm definetly going cause I went to Japan with them last year and it was so much fun I vowed I will be going on next year's trip even if I have to give up prom E) I'm taking Black & White Photo class in school and F) Of course the fashion! - that's what this post will be about. Since the begining of August I've been longing to wear tall boots, scarves, and jackets plus many more. I've been buying a lot of them since they're on sale during the summer :) and I need to wear them! Fashion by the Decades

70's fashion has had it's timeless high-points and it's wish-we-could-forget-about downfalls, as all decades has had. This post will be an homage to great 70's fashion.

I love these lovely high-waist flare leg jean (a modern take on bell bottoms)

The beautiful Pam Grier in this gorgeous coral & metallic dress

Suzanne Somers and John Ritter on "Three's Company

Here's a collage of 70's inspired items that are very modern and do-able today.

NAILS NAILS NAILS!!!!!!

I absolutely love all things nails. Nail art, nail polish, nail care... I'm always looking for a cool new nail polish. I have over 50 bottles of nail polish and growing. I have neon colors, metallic colors, glitter polish, and even matte. I don't know what I would do without nail polish. I usually change colors 1 or 2 times a week. I wear nail polish so much that when I don't wear any for a week, my nail beds hurt. Like they're literally in pain. It's sort of a throbbing kind of feeling. Anyways, I recently bought Chic Print for Nails from Sephora for $15. It's a sticker with a really cute print on it that you put on your nails. It takes a lot of skill to get them on evenly. There are 8 different prints.

Anchor

Stars (I bought this one)

Checkers

Tiger

Fishnet

Chrome Lace

Black & Gold Geometric

Skulls

These are perfect if you're not fan of polish. They only last about 2 days though, which I don't like considering I paid $15 for them, but 16 come in a pack and I change my nail color very often anyway so I guess 2 days isn't that bad.

Botanical Jewelry

Lately I've been obsessing over botanical jewelry. Every time I see a piece of jewelry with a leaf or a flower on it, I impulsivley buy it. I can't help myself! The other day I was in SoHo. As I was walking down Broadway, one of the many tables that sell cool brass jewelry had the cutest leaf double finger ring and I had to have it. I went up to the table and asked the guy how much was the ring. It was $20 and I screamed "I'll take it!" I handed him the money and I was rushing to put it in my bag because there was too many people around for me to be standing in the middle of the street. As I was putting it in my bag the guy said "Don't you want to try it on? If it doesn't fit I can adjust it for you." I said "No thankyou I'll be fine." I got on the train, put the ring on and what do you know, both rings are too big for my ring finger. I thought "Oh well. I'll jut go back to him another day and ask him to adjust it." I still haven't gotten around to it. Here's a pic of the ring.

I also got this cool bracelet from the an old gift shop in Philly!

It broke... :(

Here are some other cool botanical jewelry!

Very First Post (Intro)... YAY!

I'm so excited, this my very first post of hopefully a very successful blog. I will start by introducing myself. My name is Kai, I'm 16 going on 17 - hehe like the "Sound of Music" song - and I'm from Brooklyn, NY. I love to shop, sew, make jewelry and other artsy hands on things. But most of all, I like, no love, to style clothes. That's what this blog is mainly going to be about. My take on fashion and me showcasing how I style. Plus other things like beauty products and tips, people places and thing that inspire me, stuff I make like clothes and jewelry. Well that's it. Hope you guys enjoy the blog and wish me success! :)
